Sexual and Reproductive Health

Biotisho Eishoi™ (Reproductive Health)

Good sexual and reproductive health and maternal health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being in all matters relating to the reproductive system. It implies that people can have a satisfying and safe sex life, the capability to reproduce, the freedom to decide if, when, and how often to do so and safe maternal health. Every individual has the right to make their own choices about their sexual and reproductive health. Young mothers and women who are in the reproductive cycle need maternal health care. Most maternal deaths are preventable. For every woman who dies from causes related to pregnancy, an estimated 20 to 30 experience chronic or acute morbidities. Without treatment, these conditions can kill, disable or lead to stillbirths. Young people and women in the pastoral community are extremely vulnerable, often facing barriers to sexual and reproductive health, maternal health information and care. We work to ensure sexual and reproductive health, Maternal Health and rights remain at the very center of development within the Maasai Community.
